When it is understood that one loses joy and happiness in the attempt to possess them, the essence of natural farming will be realized. The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.

Libby and Aleta with summer’s bounty at market

Beet Generation Farm is a regenerative, small-scale, family farm in Forestville, CA run by Aleta & Andrew and their incredible team. We grow a wide diversity of nutrient-dense vegetables, fruits and herbs, and believe that the more love you put into all parts of the process, the better the food tastes.

Aleta grew up in Sonoma County and learned how to farm from several great mentors and teachers- most notably, Libby Batzel, the original founder of Beet Generation Farm. Libby and Aleta worked together in the farm’s early days back in 2012 & 2013, and in 2021 Libby officially passed on the farm to Aleta. The farm has always had its own energy and momentum, attracting an amazing community of farmers, friends, and foodies. We are so grateful for our loyal supporters who shop with us every week at the Santa Rosa farmers market- many of whom have been doing so for over a decade now! Also grateful for the many incredible farmers who have left their mark on the farm by being a part of the Beet Gen crew. Our goal over the coming years is to continue building community around the beauty of the farm, and hope to create more opportunities for connection by providing meaningful experiences on the land.

We believe food is medicine, and that the best way to stay healthy is by eating whole foods that come from healthy soils. Kindness and integrity are our guiding principles. We get so much joy from creating beautiful, high-quality food for our community, and we are so excited to share it with you!
